Artist Statement

As an artist working with wet media, such as oil, watercolor, and acrylic paints, I am drawn to their fluidity and unpredictability. There is a certain magic that occurs when water and pigment meet on the surface of the paper or canvas, and I enjoy exploring the many ways in which I can manipulate these materials to create a wide range of effects.

In my work, I strive to capture the beauty and complexity of the natural world, often focusing on landscapes, seascapes, and botanical subjects. Through my use of color, texture, and form, I aim to convey a sense of the emotion and energy that I feel when experiencing these places firsthand.

Working with wet media allows me to embrace a more intuitive and spontaneous approach to art-making. Each stroke of the brush or application of paint is an opportunity to experiment and explore, and I am constantly learning and growing as an artist through this process. Many of the works showcased are previous projects and assignments from college coursework (introductory and advanced painting courses 2017-2021), along with some works from before.
